Matter with the same composition throughout for ex. table salt (each pinch is equally as salty). Each sample has the same properties because it has a fixed and uniform composition. There are 2 classifications: elements and compounds.

Substance that cannot be broken down into simpler substances. All elements are on the periodic table.
